Lauren Oster

Lauren spent a decade as a magazine editor in midtown Manhattan without succumbing to the dubious comfort of an office cardigan. As a freelance writer, editor, and photographer, she has reported on pop culture for HGTV, photography for the Torrance Art Museum, and her elderly neighbors for Women’s Health.  She graduated from Stanford University and studied film and poetry at Oxford and Harvard.

A longtime crew member at the Tribeca Film Festival, Lauren spends much of her leisure time watching earnest documentaries and foreign horror movies. She spends the rest of it volunteering at the Housing Works Bookstore Cafe and rehabilitating New York City’s sick and injured wildlife at The Wild Bird Fund. Lauren abhors conformity and sloth, and is inordinately fond of cats.
