Kathryn Scheckel

Kathryn co-founded Spark Open Research, an edtech startup, and coined the term Massive Open Online Research, or MOOR. She created the company based on the notion that research, or exploration-driven experiences, can help students develop skills otherwise not possible in the classroom alone.

Kathryn graduated from Arizona State University with a BS in molecular biosciences and BA in piano. With expertise in research and management, Kathryn currently works as an assistant director in the Office of the President at Arizona State University. She plans to attend law school this year and is completing her Masters in Public Policy.

In her spare time, Kathryn enjoys Taylor Swift, any paper products and traveling.
